Peach Festival

Get Ready for the 2010 Georgia Peach Festival, June 11-19

Hosted in the sister Peach cities of Fort Valley and Byron, the Georgia Peach Festival has something for everyone! From concerts, dancing, parades, arts and crafts, to peach ice cream, firework and the World’s Largest Peach Cobbler! For more details go to www.gapeaachfestival.com or call 478-825-4002.

The first Georgia Peach festival was staged in Fort Valley in 1986 to promote Peach County and the peach industry that has contributed so much to the livelihood of the state of Georgia. Georgia ranks third in the nation in the annual production of peaches, with more than 15,000 acres of peach trees yielding more than 1.7 million bushels of peaches annually. More than half of that harvest is cultivated in Peach County alone!

This 2010 Georgia Peach Festival commemorates the event’s 24th anniversary and the 86th anniversary of Peach County! The Peach Festival holds the honor of being the only state–sanctioned food festival.
